In this episode of Ledger Cast, I interview Alex Sterk, the community manager of the Ubiq project and CEO of Ubiq Technologies.

Disclosure: I own Ubiq and like the project. This episode is not an endorsement or recommendation to buy Ubiq.

Ubiq is built on the Ethereum Virtual Machine and is pitched as an alternative for building dApps to Ethereum itself. It’s a proof of work coin, primarily mined on GPUs. They are currently in the window for an airdrop for the Escher token, which is primarily to be used for governance purposes. We discuss this, as well as other fundamental concepts around the Ubiq cryptocurrency and ecosystem.

This interview was recorded a couple of weeks ago, and since then the Escher airdrop has moved from a test phase to a live phase, so you can claim it now. They have articles on their website showing you how to do so.
