Quantum Resistant Ledger is an enterprise-grade cryptocurrency platform built and launched in June 2018 designed to fully secure against quantum computers. The QRL mainnet is an industrial implementation that utilizes IETF specified XMSS, a hash-based, forward secure signature scheme with minimal security assumptions. According to the QRL team, an extensible address format also ensures that the QRL is ready for anything that prevails from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) call for post-quantum cryptography.

Quantum Resistant Ledger aims to achieve quantum security by utilizing a IETF specified hash-based eXtended Merkle Signature Scheme (XMSS) instead of ECDSA found in other blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are regarded as not being quantum resistant.
